Back To School Lookbook

As much as it pains me to think about going back to school already, the time is near. The best part about looking ahead to another semester is refreshing your fall wardrobe! Booties hold a special place in my heart. A good pair of booties can make my typical jeans and t-shirt outfit look so much more put together. I've been on the hunt for a pair of snakeskin booties that wouldn't break my bank and Free People had just the right pair! A few weeks ago, they did an additional 50% off sale items and I scored these bad boys for under $25! Naturally, I told my fashionista friend Sami (seeitwithsami) about them and she picked up a pair as well. We both also got this amazing embellished western belt for a ridiculous steal. We decided we could use these items to put together a fall-inspired back to school look book!

Look 1:

I am literally the worst person when it comes to getting rid of clothes. No matter how much I buy, I never go through old things and give them away. Certain pieces just carry some sort of nostalgia for me. Such as this vintage Harley Davidson off the shoulder top. My dad used to ride Harley's and I just loved going on rides with him down to the Chesapeake Bay. I got this shirt probably 10 years ago when it was far too big to fit me and had forgotten all about it until now. The off the shoulder trend is huge right now, and if you know me you know I love a good vintage graphic shirt. I paired it with black ripped jeans, the snakeskin booties, western belt and my new favorite FP sunglasses. It's the perfect cool-girl outfit to go right from class to happy hour. Sami also stuck with the neutral color scheme pairing the accessories with black ripped jeans and this amazing lace-up LF inspired top with reflection knock off Dior sunnies.

Look 2:

Along with my order of the booties and belt, I got this dream-like white maxi dress (also from Free People) that is the softest thing in my closet currently. I paired it with a vintage leather vest that has so many little pockets I could skip a purse if I wanted.

Look 3:

I stuck to neutrals for this whole look book since the shoes are such a rad statement piece. Back to my ripped jeans, I threw on a sheer victorian blouse with an open back from Urban Outfitters. Sami rocked a laid back tan t-shirt also from Urban. When will URBN just sponsor us to keep doing lookbooks? I meeeeeean..

Am I a country rock star yet?

Look 4: The VEST day

For the last look of the day, Sami and I dressed the shoes up a bit. She took the sophisticated route with a rockin' red blazer vest. I wore an Urban Outfitters bodycon taupe dress with my leather vest again. A good vest goes a long way. It's the perfect layer to finish off a look.

And that's all for now kids. Let's shed a quick tear for the end of summer, but use retail therapy to get over it and add some awesome new pieces to use your back to school wardrobe. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Sami's blog post from this day too!! Also a big thank you to the man behind the camera for this look book, and most of my other blog posts, James Conley (ig @philatawgrapher). Be sure to go follow both these cats and make sure to wish Sami a big happy 21st birthday on Thursday!!
