Texture Talk

I don’t know where in the world you might be right now, but it is so unseasonably warm in Philadelphia right now. I have mixed feelings about it because it is December after all, and I’m reading to break out the faux fur. These two outfits are perfectly for the weather right now. We can still wear winter textures in 60-degree weather after all. Suede just has a special place in my heart. Any time I wear suede I feel like a seventies rock star. Pairing a suede biker crop top with a pair of free people suede patterned pants and suede booties sounds like a suede overload. Which it very well may be- but this outfit had the perfect balance with pattern and solids and a faux leather jacket on top really tops it off nicely.

On a chillier day, these pants also look great with this golden velvet sweater. Winter is the best time to layer textures, not only do you stay warm, you look so effortlessly put together. I love this velvet top with a pair of blue jeans, booties, and a menswear hat.

The hardest part of winter is finding cute outfits to wear out. It is so easy to bundle up in winter coats and scarves to keep warm. I’ve had this maroon dress in the back of my closet for months still with the tags on. It went on sale towards the end of summer and I just never found an opportunity to wear it. So I decided to style it with a faux fur/ super fuzzy jacket. This thing is borderline a robe but it is so warm and cute to use a layer during chilly nights.

All of these outfits are so versatile for any occasion during these warm winter months. I wore the first outfit out to a concert here in the city.

Thanks for reading and letting me ramble on about clothes! Until next time.
